In the mid 1990's WD was appointed to asset manage the Pollok Centre, achieving full occupancy and record Zone A rents.
Simultaneously WD recognised the opportunity created by the proposed M77 Motorway and the adjoining junction. Detailed discussions with Glasgow District Council over two year culminated in a revisal to the Local Plan.
In May 1997 WD obtained planning consent for Phase 1 of a Sub Regional Masterplan, covering 168 acres - now the one million square foot Silverburn Centre.
The proposals by WD were formed in conjunction with the Regeneration Alliance Industrial Strategy of Glasgow District Council. At this stage the fund for whom WD were acting sold the scheme with the benifit of the planning consent.
